HOW SHE GOT STARTED
Beth knew from a young age that she would be a hairdresser. Starting with humble beginnings she grew up in the beauty and fashion industry and has been named a master in her craft. She started working in a salon at 11 years old. “I walked to the salon after school each day and helped serve the customers.” This is where her drive to become a hairdresser and educator started. From there she decided to pursue cosmetology while in high school so she could receive her license upon graduation at 18 years of age.
HER CAREER AS AN EDUCATOR
At 23 years old the global artistic director for Keune hair cosmetics noticed her meticulousness with color placement and invited her to teach for Keune. There she worked along side some of the best in the industry for 8 years. “One of my greatest mentors is the chemist who created Redken color. He took me under his wing and taught me so much. Also the global artistic director owned the salon I worked in and 2 other international artists worked there as well. I soaked up all the knowledge I could!” This is just an example of the type of mentors she has been blessed with over the years. She has a huge passion for learning and sharing what she has learned.
HER WORK BEHIND THE CHAIR
Every time she masters one skill she searches to maximize her knowledge in another. As a result she offers an array of services ranging from haircuts and all types of color services along with extensions and Peter Coppola keratin treatments. She is very health conscious and takes her clients well being very seriously. As a result she uses only the cleanest products she can find. “My favorite services are color corrections because it’s a service that forces me to use all of the knowledge I’ve gained over the years. The most important thing to me is connecting with my clients in such a way that allows their inner light to shine, which enhances my work in such an organic way. When people look at me with a huge smile and say they feel better AND they love their hair, that’s when I feel most fulfilled. Many of my clients have become like family to me over the years.” She likes to take her time with consults as to ensure that she and the client are on the same page with a realistic vision and necessary steps to achieve the look they wish to accomplish. This goes hand in hand with the way she consults with photographers and clothing designers…
HER WORK AS AN EDITORIAL ARTIST
Just like her work behind the chair every step is important in the process to ensure the client is happy. Her collaborations with clothing designers and photographers involve ensuring that she completes the look they envision as to help them sell their brand. “I modeled when I was a teen so when I started working back stage at hair shows and fashion shows I was already familiar with how things are done. Same with photo shoots. It’s like it’s second nature to me. I love collaborating with a team and bringing everyone’s creativity together. Supporting each other like that fills my heart.”
